Global Internet Roaming Service

Global Connect is a convenient, low cost service that provides Pathway clients, traveling outside of Pathway's dial in area, access to the Internet. This service is available in locations all over North America and the rest of the world.

How to subscribe for Global Connect?

In order to subscribe to Global Connect, you need to be a current Pathway customer. If you are not a Pathway customer and would like to sign for Global Connect, you sign up for a dial up account with Pathway.

To sign up please fill in the Global Connect subscription form located on our secure site. You need to use your dial-up username to sign up.

How does Pathway Global Connect service work?

Global Connect is a dial-up Internet service. When you wish to connect to the Internet outside of your home dial-in area, all you need to know is the dial-up access number for the nearest Point of Presence (PoP) on the global WorldCom/UUnet network. WorldCom is a Pathway partner and its POPs are located in major cities and business centres around the world.

Before you leave on your trip please ensure:

	You know the local PoP dialup access number at your destination
	You have created, or you know how to create, a Global Connect dial-up connection on the computer which you will use to connect to the Internet (please see our Global Connect Help Guide)
	You know how to contact Pathway's Customer support in case you will need assistance

It is advisable that you print a copy of the Global Connect Help Guide before you travel.

Important Notes

Always check the PoP access numbers page before you travel. The numbers tend to change and we update them regularly.
You may use Global Connect to access the Internet only when you are outside of Pathway's regular dial in area. If you are within Pathway's dial in area, please use your regular dial-up account to avoid paying roaming charges.

Global Connect Internet Roaming Fees

You must be a current Pathway Communications user to subscribe to the Pathway Global Connect Service. Rates are as follows:

A one time set up charge of $10.00 payable once to Pathway Communications, when you apply for a Pathway Global Connect account.

An hourly connection charge, applies based on actual usage, rounded to the nearest minute. The connection charge varies depending on where you are connecting to the Internet from.

The current general price structure per region is shown below, in Canadian dollars:

Please note the following:

All charges are made directly to your VISA and MasterCard credit card. Cheque or cash payments are not currently accepted.

Charges for Pathway Global Connect are billed monthly, at the beginning of the month following the month in which you used the roaming service. For example, charges for the month of February would be billed to your credit card in March.

You are responsible for:

	All hotel surcharges, local or long distance telephone call charges and all other service fees. Such fees must be settled directly by you.
	All charges for local metered calls, applicable in the many countries. For additional assistance on determining these charges, please contact the local telephone company for applicable tariffs. Such fees must be settled directly by you.

All users of Pathway Global Connect are still bound by Pathway's terms and conditions of Internet usage and indemnity even when using a remote ISP as a temporary supplier.

The Global Connect roaming features will not be active if your main Pathway Internet account has been suspended or cancelled for any reason.

Please verify compatibility of telephone, power and electrical systems and adapters for each city in which you intend to use Pathway Global Connect, before you leave on your visit
